Zva Creative February Blog Hop!

Happy Monday to you! Zva Creative and our talented Design Team welcome you to our February blog hop! We are very excited about month's hop and are excited to share our new work with you!

Today's Blog Hop begins at Zva Creative's blog! Be sure head on over to check it out! Since many of us live in different time zones around the world, you will find a complete list of all the participating blogs there (in case there is a glitch along the way).

As you know, Zva offers many beautiful color groupings for pearls, flowers and crystals.  If you like what you see along the hop you can find a list of stores and online retailers that sell Zva HERE.

My kids really likes to play dress-up and the 5 year was very excited when he got a Hulk costume for Christmas, even a wig was included.  He would even use it as pyjamas.  Did he scare you ? Have used mostly green products here to enhance the green Hulk. I don't usually pay that much attention to the colors in the pictures, but this time the green is significant.

Zva products used:
[CRB-05CB-119 Flourish - Lime/Olive Crystal]
[FL-04CA-129 2.5" Dual- Flowers Olive ]

If you would like to play along with our design team, just follow along the blog path.  I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way!
The Blog Hop starts today, February 25th and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, February 26th.
***Prizes***
Hidden on FIVE of the designer's blogs is a Zva Creative prize package! Winners will be randomly chosen after the hop is over. All you need to do is leave a comment on this Blog Hop post... you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. However, the more times you comment along the blog hop path, the more chances you will have to win.

The 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, February 27th on Zva Creative's blog. We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to Zva's blog on Wednesday to see if you are a winner!

We also thought it would be more fun to add even more chances to win our blog hop prize!  To increase your chances of winning:
* Comment to let us know that you posted on your Facebook page about our hop (link to any of the blog hop posts)
* Comment to let us know that you "tweeted" about our hop (link to any of the blog hop posts)
* Comment to let us know that you asked your local store to carry Zva creative products.  If they already do, that's fantastic, maybe you can suggest other products that they don't carry.
*Hop over to Zva's facebook page and "like" our page or leave a comment there to tell us that you stopped by.

The blog hop begins here at Zva Creative's blog. Your next stop is Jolanda Meurs. Enjoy!

Thank you for joining us!

Allergi

Layering - one way or another...

I have seen a few articles about layering around on the net and wanted to try another approach than I usually take, but first I am going to explain how I usually do so you can see the difference.

I usually make layouts in two steps, first I use stencils and then I color the background - on a white cardstock. I drop some mists too.  In the example underneath I have used a Silhouette to make my own masks and used Distress ink for the patterns.

Then I might stamp some too.  Another example.

Then I focus on the layering. After I have made my choice of paper, fabric and other I staple it together leaving lots of air between the layers, then I add more in between like ribbon,  border punches paper and washi tape. Then I finalize with some details. This is one of my layouts using this type of layering. I also crunch the papers a little before I staple them together to give them more air in between.

Then there is another type of layering that I am not that familiar with.  The type of layering where you adhere everything to the background and add for instance gesso and stamps on top of the layers, which is easier than in the first example, because even though its full of layers - it's flat.  You don't have the same amount of freedom to add stuff inbetween though.   I made this layout in very poor light so hence no progress pictures. Just table lamps, but I guess you get the picture of how its made. I used tape, glue and gesso to adhere the paper to the white cardstock.  And since it was flat - I stamped on top.

Note to self

Dette er mitt siste bidrag til Inzpiras utfordring. Selv i grå dager lyser mine barn min dag opp... Derfor er alt grått.

Noe lurt på gang

In English today. This is a layout for the MME/Gossamer Blue GDT challenge.  All papers are from MME and some chipboard and Enamel dots.  The title says "Noe lurt på gang", which means he is thinking of doing something "fun" (for him) - mostly on the expense of his little sister.... The Batman aid on his forehead was to prevent Impetigo on a little scratch, his sister had a really bad case of it, it lasted three weeks.
