Scrap around the world - October challenge

It's time for challenge SIX - 6 at  Scrap Around The World Challenge, hosted by Design Team member Jessy Christopher from Malaysia!

Here is my layout








We had over 70 entries last month so we are looking forward to another bumper month before the festive season kicks in!!

Last month we made some IMPORTANT RULE CHANGES so if you haven't checked them out yet please look HERE.





Feel free to interpret the mood board in any way you like, using one image, several of them, all of them or even just one aspect of an image, using ANY COLOURS! Please do let us know HOW YOU WERE INSPIRED!!

For example:- You could use fresh, clean colours like white, pale blue,yellow, pink, mint green & gold. Patterns such as florals/leafy foliage together with images of birds, flowers, chevrons & polka-dots! There are elements of vintage mixed in with modern; doilies, airy lace designs,pretty bows & clashing colours, shapes and prints. Circles, checks, stripes - this board is all about eclectic combinations!

There's an air of nostalgia mixed in with the uber-modern images too.This could prompt you to scrap about different generations, life as it was then & how it is now, or simply outdoor memories inspired by the botanical prints. This board evokes images of purity, beauty &  femininity,with a touch of romance &  homely peace &comfort.

Denne layouten ble også til på oppdragspausekvelden min... Carta Bella Hello Again

Energien er ikke tilstede for tiden så derfor blir det sparsomt med layouter(har riktignok over 20 layouter som kan blogges i løpet av høsten.. )skulle ønske det var flere timer i døgnet. Satser på at stresset slepper om noen uker.

Dette erforøvrig en layout hvor jeg opplevde en lite krise, mistet maaasse glaze over den, men det ser vel ingen nå?

Det er sommer, så da har jeg laget en skikkelig sommergul layout. Har brukt gesso, masse vann, vannpensel og flere forskjellige gule og svarte/grå mister. Samt flere stensiler

June 2013 Challenge 2 - Scrap around the world

Hi there friends & fans of Scrap Around The World!

Thank you for your overwhelming support & all your lovely comments on our first challenge!  We were bowled over & just loved hearing from you!!  Please continue to talk to us - feedback is so important & keeps us going, making our efforts worthwhile!!!  

Here we go with our 2nd challenge!  We received 82 entries last month!!  Remember it's not only about winning & EVERYONE has a fair chance in our random draw.  With so many awesome entries it's impossible to feature every exceptional layout but if you created a beautiful page that you are proud of & enjoyed the challenge then we achieved what we set out to do - inspire you to create & enjoy the process!  

We present you with an eclectic, retro mood board from amazing Design Team member 
Anupama Choudary, 
together with a happy & whimsical sketch from our resident sketch artist 
Julianne McKenna-De Lumen.

 All you need to do is be inspired by the mood board 
(in ANY way) & use our sketch as your starting point.

How to use our sketches

As you would any other sketch.  We would like to see that it definitely inspired you & was your 'starting point' 
but you can 'make it your own' by flipping it, turning it, inverting it & moving things about if you like.  
You can also change the photo orientation and number of photos to be as few or as many as you like.

How to use our mood boards

Our mood boards are for your INSPIRATION only.  You can be inspired by one of the images, 
all of the images, or any number of them, or even parts thereof.

For example:- on this board you may be inspired by the colours (either all of them or just one, two or more)
 but you do not have to use any colours on the board if you don't want to.

Other aspects of the mood board that could inspire you are, for example, the circular, cylindrical & rectangular shapes, the camera images & connotations thereof (photography theme/embellishments), suitcase images, vintage buckles, straps, hazy backgrounds, vellum/baking paper, rafia, roses, twigs (chipboard), metallic images, film strips, typography, stencilled titles, ombre effects, old book paper & wooden elements. 

It's entirely up to you!  Be Inspired in any way!!

Here is my layout for the month. 

'Loved This' by Christin Grønnslett

I was inspired by the cameras and my starting point was the colour of the mint green camera in Image 2. Of course I had to add a couple of camera embellishments together with my little interpretation of the banner, keeping everything very light as per the feel of the mood board.  I loved how these pale shades echoed the many pastel colours of the bubbles my son was blowing in the photograph I used.

As you know, Zva offers many beautiful color groupings for pearls, flowers and crystals.  If you like what you see along the hop you can find a list of stores and online retailers that sell Zva HERE.

Today I wanted to share with you that the Zva Creative bling and flowers easily can be combined with a little more modern approach in contrast to very romantic and its even a boy layout.  I have used distress ink and other stamps pads together with different masks and some stamps to create the background.   I have cut two layers of the flower so it didn't looked so big in contrast to the rest of the layout. 

My son is sitting in the morning playing with his Nintendo DS, he couldn't wait to get dressed or even eat before he wanted to play with it in the first weekends after he got the game for Christmas, he just sat down on the first place outside the kitchen where it was charged overnight.
