The products used to make this background are: Clear gesso, two pink Glimmer mists and 1 yellow glimmer mist together with a waterbrush. Then stencils together with distress ink and on top stamping.
A few weeks ago I was teaching a mini album class - where I combined coloring techniques with layering techniques - the base of the class was an old book. The top layers were meant to be in that mini album that I taught, but in stead I can show here that mosts coloring techniques work out the same way in a mini album as a layout, I just added some more layers.
Another little secret I can share (that I will focus on later this fall his how I work with the layers) is I use a stapler to combine the layers.. That is why you can se a lot of air between the layers.
This time I accidentally covered most of my colored background, but for me that happens quite often and I don't care - the background isn't what is most important. I also often make the layers one day and do the layers without any concern of the background and then I play mix and match with layers and background.
Hoping this will get you a little curious about some of the things I will show you in my blog posts later this fall.
Paper, pennant, alphabet are from Heidi Swapp, chipboard from Wycinanka
