Morgengretten

Her er utfordringen, har bare droppet å ha to bilder.

Quick and easy card with leftovers - My Creative Scrapbook

I made this little tutorial with the August Limited Edition kit featuring Kaiser Craft for My Creative Scrapbook.

I guess you are not the only one that face  either one of this:1) lots of scraps but not really wanting to throw them away and 2) you are in a hurry, but really wanting to make something. Well this is the project for you.

You start up with your kit leftovers. This is what was left of my August Limited Edition kit before I started the project of making a small 4x6 card.

Tak out your papers

Start by cutting your leftovers into different widths and tear the edges of the side of the papers, not necessarily as straight as possible, uneven will be just as fine.

Start with the darkest paper and layer the cards on top of each other, and you can see that two of the smaller pieces go in the middle.  Do not use much adhesive underneath, and why I will show you in a bit.

You want to add more layers, I have used the round Artisan and taken the advantage of its flexibiliy and put pieces on the upper part of the card and the lower part. Since there are no straight edges it works great. Then add some border stickers in different sizes and tuck then between the layers.  Now you will see why it's a good idea to not adhere the layers to tight, otherwise you will have not have space to tuck the extra borders in between.

As you can see  I have cut the pieces of the paper much wider than the actual card so the last step before adding more is to cut the edges off.

Finish project. Here I have added the a flower, the stickers are both adhered using 3d foam squares to add a little extra depth.

Sekken henger klar i gangen, klær funnet frem.

Time flies, can't believe our little boys starts school tomorrow. This page is about the two boys in the house running around the house chasing each others.

I started this page with gesso and stencils, and then the next layers are stencils together with black distress ink, some stamping in black and the last part was adding different drops of mist. The paper layers are stitched together, which leaves plenty of room to adhere ribbon like I have done on this page.

Special Guest Designer Inkido

---
My presentation at Inkido.

Who am I ? My name is Christin Grønnslett. 39 years old, lives in Norway with husband and two kids (6 and almost 4)  My blog: http://umenorskan.blogspot.com. I am one of those night owl scrappers. Every evening when the kids are asleep, I sneak down to my scrapcave way in the basement and scrap. If you look at my pages there are a few things that easily points to me. I mostly scrap using a white cardstock, I use stencils and stamps with distress inks, doilies are present and I use several layers, but most important - I am allergic to using up a whole page  so you will always se a lot of white space.  I am no documentation scrapper, allthough I often use my own handwriting. I love just capture different facial expressions as the kids grow older.

If you want to know more about my creative process, you can go back to my May post

"Huske" is the name of this project - with a picture of my 3 year old in the swing the garden. She is not happy - I am not giving her a push - I am just photographing her - not very popular....

If you see the two projects in the other post you can see that I first used color products, stamps, stencils and THEN added my layers of paper, well, here I have done a mix of those two layering techniques.  Here is my thoughts on the different techniques: If you prefer a rather flat layering style and no big flowers and want to have room for a lot of pages in your albums I would recommend using this approach which goes as follows.  Glue down every layer on top of each other, leaving not much air between the layers, stamps, stencil and add gesso ON TOP of all the layers, and then add the picture and decorations.  This style is very common in Eastern Europe and if you are familiar with especially polish scrappers you would see this style.   Then there is the style in which I am most familiar. You do all the color work on the page before you start adding layers, and then staple the layers giving the papers a lot of air to tuck things in between. 3d adhesive is commonly used too.

Hope Chest Ebook Pink Paislee

I am proud to present my layout in the latest of Pink Paislees ebook featuring the Hope Chest collection. I wanted to show that you can scrap really colorful with the Hope Chest collection too, you don't have to go totally vintage.

This might seem like a fall layout, but we found a few leaves when the snow was gone - thereby the title Spring.

From time to time I am in the mood to make cards, doesn't happen very often, but I feel I have made so many layouts this summer (around 20) so I thought I would have to make some cards.

As a base for this layout I haven't used ordinary white cardstock, I have used watercolorpaper, cut to 11x28 cm (The paper was A3)

For the purple background I used water and a brush and then mist and then again the brush to spread the color. I dropped some more mist both before and after it had dried a little.

On top of the misted area I stamped a little.

To make the border I used a EK success punch, and just trimmed it a little on the side to avoid the square look. I taped half a doily and sewed some riboon on. As a last touch I decorated with mini roses and some bling swirls.
